My name is Suresh Nageswaran. Welcome to my home page.

Engineering is my passion, and I specialize in Software Test Engineering. Having spent over a decade in this profession, I have created very successful testing services practices in two major consultancies, assessed Fortune 50 companies on Testing Maturity, advised top CIOs and CTOs in the Financial Services industry on a myriad of testing and quality issues and created original research that has significantly added revenue to my company's bottomline.

My career is focused around a consistent leitmotif: Bringing engineering discipline and rigour into the software testing profession. To achieve this I have had to borrow paradigms from other disciplines such as mathematics and statistics, operations research, software development, business economics and even buyer psychology. This has led me to interesting solutions and provided fantastic learning opportunities.

These opportunities and experiences of working in the software testing industry, especially leveraging offshore talent, building federated and centralized Shared Services groups for Software Testing are some of the key themes of my new blog on this website.

Among other things, the research I have conducted has included Data Depersonalization (masking, cleansing) for use in test environments, Test Effort Estimation using UCP/TCP and other measures, metrics and measures for the efficiency and effectiveness of software testing and defect prediction using Bayesian techniques.

As a consultant, I've travelled and lived all over the US, Europe, Japan and India. This has helped me pick up German, French and some Japanese. Languages fascinate me and these days I'm trying to teach myself Putonghua (Mandarin Chinese).
